Bringing Comedy to the Riverina since 2015
We're Dane and Eleanor Simpson – a married couple, parents to one energetic little boy, and the team behind Riverina Comedy Club.
Dane's the stand-up comedian. Eleanor's the behind-the-scenes organiser who somehow keeps everything running smoothly. Together, we've been bringing live comedy to the Riverina and beyond since 2015, and we've loved every minute of it.
Over the years we've seen comedy in just about every form imaginable. We hosted socially distanced comedy shows during COVID, and in 2025 we welcomed more than 800 people to the Wagga Comedy Gala. It's been quite the journey.
So, who are we?
What do we do?
Our mission is simple: bring great comedy to regional Australia.
Over the years we've welcomed some of Australia's biggest comedy names to town, including Tom Gleeson, Rove McManus, Randy Feltface and Claire Hooper, just to name a few.
But we're just as passionate about supporting local talent. Alongside every headline act, Dane works with emerging comedians, coaching and mentoring local and regional performers who regularly feature on our shows.
We've taken comedy all across the region, with performances in Tumut, Gerogery, West Wyalong, Coolamon, Junee, Temora, Albury, Ganmain and Cootamundra—and that's only part of the list.
Since 2022, we've also been taking a group of regional comedians to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, giving local performers the chance to experience Australia's biggest comedy stage.
Comedy shows are what we're best known for, but they're not all we do. We've hosted trivia nights, fundraisers, gala events and plenty of community celebrations, all with the goal of bringing people together for a good laugh.
